Designing to make a difference.

Project 3- The Amaryllis

Developed as my undergraduate thesis, this project challenged the traditional expectations of my current thesis program by focusing on emotional transitions and lived experience. The Amaryllis is a first-year dormitory designed for the University of Georgia, created to reflect the monumental personal changes that occur during the transition into college life.

The design emphasizes student interaction, personal growth, and spatial exploration — recognizing the importance of place-making at a formative time. The building is organized around five distinct cores, each tailored to support the diverse and evolving needs of students as they navigate this new chapter. Through this framework, the project reimagines student housing not just as accommodation, but as a supportive, dynamic environment that encourages connection, resilience, and discovery
